Profiles are stored in a JSON file on your local machine at ~/.ftp2ftp_profiles.json. They never leave your computer. You can back this file up or copy it to another machine.

Any server that supports standard FTP (RFC 959) or FTPS explicit TLS (RFC 4217). This includes cPanel/WHM hosting servers, FileZilla Server, ProFTPD, vsftpd, IIS FTP, Pure-FTPd, and most commercial hosting providers.

When you right-click and select "Compress to ZIP," the app downloads all selected files into memory, compresses them into a single ZIP archive in memory, then uploads just that one archive to the destination. This is especially fast when you have hundreds of small files — one large transfer is always faster than thousands of tiny ones. No temporary files are written to your hard drive.

FTP to FTP Data Transfer Tool runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). The local file browser shows all your drives (C:, D:, etc.) alongside special folders like Desktop, Downloads, and Documents. Linux and macOS builds are planned for a future release.

Failed transfers appear in the "Failed" tab of the transfer queue with the exact error message from the FTP server (e.g., "550 Permission denied"). The activity log also records the full error with timestamp. The app continues with remaining files in the queue — one failure doesn't stop everything.

Currently FTP Transfer supports FTP and FTPS (FTP over explicit TLS). SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) is a different protocol and is on the roadmap for a future release. For encrypted transfers with standard FTP servers, use the FTPS/TLS option.
